After a horrible invasion of Sable City by a horde of orcs and orogs, much of the city was in ruins. There was rubble everywhere. The inn was one of the buildings destroyed. Wagner, the well-liked owner, was nowhere to be found. We started digging in the rubble, hoping that he had managed to make it down into one of the rooms below before the whole thing collapsed.
Rubble and Ash
Here where one of Sable City's buildings once stood, is nothing but rubble
and ash. Charred wood, bent and twisted steel spikes, and burnt bones of
every humanoid variety are all that remain here.
The sun shines brightly in the western sky.
Fluffy white clouds drift lazily overhead.
Kerrin yells: Wagner!
Kerrin emits a screeching squawk of Wagner!
-> Kerrin begins digging through the rubble
Tharl enters.
Tygeth enters.
Tygeth sighs

Kerrin listens carefully but hear nothing unusual.
The sky grows even clearer and more beautiful.

After all that digging, Kerrin doesn't seem to have uncovered anything.

collapse any thing that might be under the rubble."
Tharl says, "Maybe if we tap some of these steel spikes together, he might
hear it? Either that, or a mighty trumpet bleat? Maybe if he is down
there, he doesn't know there is anything left.."
Kerrin says, "If only there were a gnomie around."
Tygeth nods at you
Tygeth says, "Tharl might have a point with the metal rods...if they go all
the way down."
Kerrin says, "Aye!"
Tygeth hmms
Tharl says, "Yes, and the sound would carry, possibly even through stone."
Kerrin says to Tharl, "Play something on the steel spikes."
Kerrin listens carefully but hear nothing unusual.
Tharl hmms
The sun sinks towards the western horizon.
-> Kerrin kneels down to listen closely to the rubble
You think you hear some tapping coming through the rubble.
Kerrin flaps his wings
Kerrin says, "Shhhh!"
Kerrin says, "I hear something."
Tygeth nods slowly
-> Kerrin presses his ear right up tight to the rubble
Kerrin says to Tharl, "Bang on the spikes a couple of times."
-> Tharl taps a rhythym on the spikes with his longsword.
You definitely hear some tapping through the rubble.
A faint tapping can definitely be heard through the rubble.
Tygeth beams brightly.
Tygeth says, "Let's go!!"
Kerrin says, "I definitely hear tapping back."
Kerrin yells: Wagner!
-> Tygeth walks over to where Kerrin is
Tygeth starts digging here with his hands.

Tharl says, "Maybe one of us should run for more help?"

The brilliance of the sky dims a bit.

implant him.

Thalia says, "Ok now all get behind me and push"

Kerrin says, "THREE!"
-> Tygeth strains against the stone

The rock shifts and wobbles but budges only slightly.

Thalia says, "ready?"

-> Saelene shoves as hard as she can, her face beet red with the effort.

The rock wobbles and goes onto an edge.
-> Khirmint heaves again with all his strength!
-> Sebboe digs his feet in and pushes relentlessly
-> Pormis pushes rock with all his might
Tygeth yells: WAGNER!?
Thalia says, "Quick! shove hard"
-> Kerrin leans into it with all his weight
The rock teeters a bit and then starts to topple!
-> Tygeth shoves with all his strength
You hear some weak, muffled coughing from below.
Twilight fades and the night begins.
-> Tharl shoves with all of his might.
-> Khirmint jumps clear of the rocks path
Aelyn says, "out of the way of the toppling!"
-> Saelene shoves harder wobbling as it starts to move.
-> Cyrinne jumps aside
-> Kerrin rolls over the top of the stone
-> Ailin grits her teeth and pushes again
Tygeth yells: WAGNER!?
The rock topples over with a might CRASH! BOOM! WHAM!
Tygeth lets out a resounding cheer.
Aelyn coughs
-> Saelene jumps back as the rock lands with a crash.
-> Kerrin kicks his feet and barely gets out of the way
Saelene lets out a resounding cheer.
Saelene says, "is he ok??"
-> Tygeth immediately rushes to the hole
-> Aelyn waves at hand at the dust
-> Ailin falls to the ground

Tygeth says, "Wagner?"

One particularly traumatic death caused Kerrin to completely lose his sight. He also suffered a terrible case of amnesia and wound up thinking he'd always been blind his entire life. It took an aweful lot of convincing for him to accept that he might have once been able to see. After about ten years of blindness, his sight was once again restored.
Conversion Chamber
A large altar facing north stands here, and two small fountains of
clear blue water flow peacefully on either side. This is where heathens
are brought to have their eyes opened to the light of Vivoria.
The only obvious exit is east.

Kerrin listens carefully but hears nothing unusual.
Frobozz says, "I am pleased to see those close to Kerrin, today."
Kerrin flutters his small, feathered wings lightly underneath himself

Frobozz says, "It's been years since this has been attempted. We are going
to try to heal the blindness that has remained in his body for some

-> Kerrin scrunches up his eyes several times and then tries to relax.
Dalphor says to Kerrin, "Its okay.. we're all here for you"

-> Dalphor kneels nearby
-> Watching air bubble out of the vial, Frobozz pulls it out when it has
filled.
-> Kerrin cocks his head to one side a bit.
-> Frobozz motions for everyone to gather around Kerrin.
Dalphor starts praying fervently to Silvanus.
-> Karahd shuffles a bit closer.
Karahd starts praying fervently to Erosia.
Frobozz chants a prayer to Vivoria that this crystal vial be blessed.
-> Casia gently lays her hand next to Kerrin
-> Falix moves in closer to Kerrin
-> Kerrin pulls his wings in closer to his body.
Frobozz completes his prayer.
-> Kerrin takes several deep breaths.
-> Frobozz finishes his prayer
-> Frobozz places his hand lightly on Kerrin's shoulder
Frobozz says, "Do you believe in the healing powers of Vivoria, Kerrin?"

Falix smiles gently and closes his eyes
Frobozz says, "Kerrin, please close your eyes."
-> Casia bows her head and prays softly
Frobozz says to Lexia, "The cloth, please?"
-> Kerrin's eyelids slowly close shut.
Lexia coughs
Lexia whispers something to Frobozz.

-> Dalphor grabs Jenai's hand closing his eyes

-> Falix opens his eyes and looks on eagerly
Frobozz says to Kerrin, "This will be cool, please relax as this water is
poured over your face."
-> Kerrin chirps shortly in reply.
Kerrin nods
-> Kneeling besides Kerrin, Frobozz slowly pours the water over Kerrin's
closed eyes.
-> Kerrin scrunches up his eyes at the water.
-> Frobozz places the palm of his hand over Kerrin's eyes.
Frobozz lays his hands upon Kerrin, and the power of Vivoria fills him and
heals some of his wounds!
-> Lexia places her hands on Kerrin's chest and prays for the healing powers of
Vivoria
Lexia has healed Kerrin's wounds!
-> Kerrin twitters quietly.
-> Kerrin's feathers shiver slightly.
-> Frobozz slowly wipes off Kerrin's face with a towel.
-> Dalphor watches hopefully
-> Frobozz wraps the other cloth around Kerrin's eyes.
-> Kerrin wriggles his face a bit as the water is removed.
Frobozz hmms
-> Casia sinks her teeth in her bottom lip watching
Frobozz says, "Let us pray!"
Frobozz starts praying fervently to Vivoria.
-> Kerrin cheeps

-> Casia prays softly
Karahd starts praying fervently to Erosia.
-> Kerrin sings the same melody of lyrics over and over.
Dalphor listens to Kerrin intently.

-> Frobozz looks down at Kerrin.
-> Kerrin sings quietly under his breath.
Here I lie upon the ground,
I know the end is near.
All I manage is some small sound,
I don't even feel the fear.

-> Kerrin cocks his head to one side a bit as he stands up.

-> Kerrin slowly peels one eye open and then the other.

-> Karahd stares directly at Kerrin's face, her own beaming with a huge toothy
grin on it, "Can you see? HUH?"
Kerrin blinks rapidly
Kerrin says, "Is light...um...bright and shiney?"
Karahd says, "no, that's Frobozz's forehead"
Lexia giggles
Frobozz laughs
Dalphor says, "Yes Kerrin you're seeing"
Kerrin says, "Oh."
Falix grins at Karahd

Karahd says, "Or a shaven dwarfen bum"

Falix grasps Karahd and inflicts her with great fatigue!
Falix explodes with joy, "WOO! WOO!"

Kerrin says to Karahd, "Whistle gal!"
Casia winces in pain.
Karahd beams at Kerrin brightly.
Dalphor jumps up and down

Frobozz proudly announces that he has sworn his bloodoath to Brennen!
Falix giggles
Kerrin says, "Woah."
Dalphor says, "And lesson number one... just cuz you see don't mean you can
run like crazy"
-> Kerrin regains his feet unsteadily.
Frobozz says to Kerrin, "Woa what?"
Karahd holds Kerrin close
Kerrin laffs out loud!
Karahd says to Kerrin, "Now tell me, you're Kerrin, right?"
Casia grins at Dalphor
Kerrin says, "This will take some getting used to."
Karahd says, "Or go on marshmallow roasting trips with Zimri"
Kerrin says to Karahd, "But, of course!"
Casia says, "This is the Lady's miracle"
Karahd says, "So if you're Kerrin, does that mean I get mead?"
Karahd says, "Since I'm on my way to bed"
Karahd says, "I need uhm"
Kerrin says, "I will most likely still have to use my cane for a while."
Frobozz folds his hands in prayer to Vivoria.
Dalphor says to Frobozz, "Well done Frobozz... I thank you and Vivoria for
this gift"
Frobozz says, "I didn't do anything!"
Lexia falls unconscious...
Karahd looks at Lexia.
Frobozz says, "I made Lexia pass out"
Lexia has regained consciousness.
Falix says, "you just yelled and made her pass out"
Lexia says, "Ugh."
Casia pats Lexia on the back
Frobozz touches Lexia's forehead, bestowing the blessings of Vivoria.
Lexia stands up and wiggles a bit

Karahd hugs Falix
Lexia says, "I'm sorry, I'm just a bit dizzy. Excuse me, please."

Here is the sort of embarassing thing that can happen when people misuse the King's property.
Five of us bards had just finished rehersing a play. The set we had been using was still out on stage. We were all backstage discussing how the rehersal had gone. Suddenly, two people appeared on stage for what they thought was a private romantic interlude.
Some time afterwards the woman was forthcoming with a public apology for the gross misuse of the King's property, so her name has been removed from the transcript below. The fellow was a different story. Over the next several days he accused the entire bard's guild of lying, argued publicly with bards, slapped one bard, threatened the guildmaster of thieves with his scorpien tail, posted sarcastic notes on the public message boards, and wrote disrespectful letters to the guildmaster of bards. Therefore, his name has been left in the transcript below.
Here is what transpired...
A dank underground cavern. Large stalactites hang ominously off
the ceiling. Some reaching almost as low as the ground. There
is a faint echo of dripping water, or maybe even blood. But
there is dripping nonetheless. Philia is surrounded by her new
companions.

[Backstage] Jasric says, "Let's get some buckets of water?"

[Stage] A voice booms, "THE DEVIL YOU WILL!"

And then they were obviously flustered upon being discovered...
